Gibson County has easy access to Interstate 40 and near proximity to Interstate 155. Most places within the county are within a ninety minute drive from Memphis, an area known world-wide as America’s Distribution Center due to its ideal location and transportation infrastructure. Interstate access may be made from US Highways 45 W and 45 E, and local highways 79 and 104.

Gibson County Airport

Located between the communities of Milan, Trenton, and Humboldt, Gibson County Airport (TGC) supports recreational, corporate, and business operations. Thanks to its central location in Gibson County, the airport supports the crucial agricultural operations and needs for the entire county and surrounding region, supporting almost 100 annual agricultural operations. The airport also supports weekly recreational and business flights with its 4,802-foot runway, providing an access point to the area for incoming businesses and clientele.

The airport prides itself on being a fundamental part of businesses and industries in the area such as construction as well as being able to provide essential access for the transportation of individuals and materials.

Humboldt Municipal Airport

Humboldt Municipal Airport is a public-use airport located in Gibson County, Tennessee, United States. It is three nautical miles (6 km) southeast of the central business district of the City of Humboldt, which owns the airport. According to the FAA’s National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2009–2013, it was classified as a general aviation airport.

McKellar Sipes Regional Airport

McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport in Jackson has daily scheduled regional airline service and meets the same FAA safety and security requirements as much larger facilities. The airport has a 6,000 foot grooved surface primary runway with a category 1 instrument landing system plus a 3,500 foot secondary runway. The airport control tower is operated from 7am until 7pm daily under the FAA Contract Tower Program using FAA certified controllers. 

Southern Airways Express provides three daily departures to Atlanta from McKellar-Sipes, with fares ranging from $69 to $99 each way, as well as offering weekend seasonal flights to Destin, Florida.

The International Port of Memphis is the second largest inland port on the shallow draft portion of the Mississippi River, and the 4th largest inland Port in the United States. The International Port of Memphis covers the Tennessee and Arkansas sides of the Mississippi River from river Mile 725 to mile 740. Within this 15 mile reach, there are 68 water fronted facilities, 37 of which are terminal facilities moving products such as: petroleum, tar, asphalt, cement, steel, coal, salt, fertilizers, rock & gravel, and of course grains.
