About Gibson County ECD

Director of Economic Development

Kingsley Brock

The Gibson County Office of Economic & Community Development (GCECD) is a public partnership established to recruit new companies to the county and work with our existing industries to assist with their expansion plans. We help access potential incentives and grants from our partner agencies such as TNECD, TVA. and the Northwest TN Development District.  We work closely with our three chambers of commerce to support local entrepreneurial development and market our communities for retail, commercial and business attraction.

We are proud to offer rewarding, rural quality of life living and have most everything you need right here.  When you need more, the City of Jackson is right down the road, and via Interstate 40 we are close enough to Nashville (140 miles) and Memphis (100 miles) for quick trips to big city amenities.

We have excellent school systems with innovative work-based learning programs which offer students a variety of career path options. During the 2021/2022 school year, Gibson County students earned over $490,000 working in factories and businesses located throughout the county and surrounding area.

The county has a rich history that includes one of the world’s largest collection of porcelain teapots, rare white squirrels, and the home of American hero Davy Crockett.

Come see why Gibson County is a great place to call home!
